Should Joe Biden win the presidential election this fall, one of his top priorities will be to try to force all Americans to wear face coverings or masks whenever they leave their homes.
The Democratic hopeful promised during an interview to use executive powers to mandate masks, even though a medical exemption from mask-wearing exists for all Americans who claim it under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
“I would go back to making sure that everybody had masks,” an otherwise senile Biden is quoted as saying, apparently cognizant of what a mask actually is as well as the fact that he is running for president.
“The one thing we do know is that these masks make a gigantic difference,” Biden added. “I would insist that everybody in public be wearing that mask … I would do everything possible to make it required that people had to wear masks in public.”
While federal health officials are recommending that people wear face covering whenever they are unable to maintain at least six feet of distance from others, there is no concrete proof that they actually do anything.
Even the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says that cloth masks “may” – emphasis on the word may – “slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.”
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) is a bit more reluctant to declare masks necessary or useful. The agency says there is limited evidence to suggest that masks, especially when worn by healthy people, function preventatively.
“There is currently no evidence that wearing a mask (whether medical or other types) by healthy persons in the wider community setting, including universal community masking, can prevent them from infection with respiratory viruses, including COVID-19,” says the WHO.
Early on during the pandemic, there seemed to be universal consensus that masks probably would not help the situation any, which is why the only people advised to use them were healthcare workers and people who were visibly sick.
This all changed in April, however, when Anthony Fauci and others suddenly insisted that everybody needed to wear masks, even after previously stating the opposite.
The stated reason for this change is that it was supposedly learned later on that healthy people can theoretically protect themselves and others from “catching” the virus if their mouths and noses are covered by any type of cloth material.
As for Biden, the 77-year-old presidential hopeful has yet to be seen anywhere outside of his basement without a mask. President Trump, on the other hand, has yet to wear a mask at all, save for one brief instance in an automotive factory.
“It may be good,” Trump is quoted as saying about masks in general. “Probably will. They’re making a recommendation. It’s only a recommendation. It’s voluntary,” he added.
Much like with vaccines, many Americans agree that wearing a face mask must remain voluntary. Since they are not foolproof and some people report breathing problems and other symptoms from their use, mandating them on everyone is a form of tyranny that is inherently anti-American.
“If Biden is willing to execute an executive order to force people to wear masks, where will it stop? When will it stop?” asked on commenter at The Epoch Times, hinting about the next “phase” being forced vaccination. “Do the Democrats really believe they know how I as an individual should live?”
“Biden, I do not think so,” wrote another. “I am a combat veteran and I will fight for my freedoms again” if necessary, this same commenter added.
