Feeling tired and bloated? It’s safe to say you may be feeling the need for a body reset.
To recharge your body and get back on the healthy track, we suggest following gentle, natural cleansers to rid your body of toxins in just one day. No weird starvation diets required, just a few simple tips and tricks to get your body back to normal.
Drinking lemon water first thing in the morning is the best and easiest way to give your body some TLC. It benefits the entire body by eliminating toxins that can damage our cells, tissues, and organs. Lemons stimulate the liver to work harder and produce more enzymes to break down toxins. It also works as a diuretic to keep the urinary tract toxin-free.
Furthermore, lemon juice resembles your stomach’s juices and kick-starts digestion. It helps to loosen and flush out toxins from the digestive tract, curbs the appetite, and eases symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, and bloating.
After drinking a glass of lemon water, fuel your body with the right kind of foods to get you through the day. Breakfast isn’t the most important meal of the day, every meal you put in your stomach is equally important to create energy and give your body the building blocks it needs. However, eating breakfast will curb the appetite and prevent a trip to the vending machine before lunch.
Avoid bread, cereal, and the usual bacon and eggs for breakfast. Opt for nourishing and debloating foods instead. Focus on providing your body with protein and healthy fats for filling you up.
Do not skip meals. Make sure to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and at least one healthy snack that consists of whole, fresh, and nutrient-dense foods – such as vegetables, fruits, lean protein, and healthy fats from nuts, seeds, olives, avocados, or coconuts – to replenish essential nutrients.
Stay away from processed foods and opt for fresh produce, organic and/or homegrown if possible. Also, ditch refined sugar, sodium, and artificial ingredients to feel better in just one day.
Dandelion, yes that yellow weed that pops up in every garden, is well-known for its liver strengthening and detoxing properties. It has been used for ages to treat muscle aches, loss of appetite, upset stomach, intestinal gas, gallstones, joint pain, eczema, and bruises.
Dandelion greens can be used in smoothies or as a garnish or addition to sauces and salads. Or why not have an afternoon dandelion tea? The entire dandelion plant — roots, stems, leaves, and flowers — is safe and super healthy to eat or drink. However, its bitter flavor may not be for everyone.
Exercise increases the heart rate and blood flow which will bring up a sweat. When we sweat our body naturally rids itself of toxins and regulates internal body temperature to keep things stable. While we sweat our pores open and impurities such as dead skin cells and toxins are eliminated, leaving us with a smoother skin and healthier body than before.
While any type of exercise is good to bring up a sweat and remove toxins, why not try “hot” or Bikram yoga. Hot yoga takes place in a room heated to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It helps build muscles strength and endurance while bringing up a sweat and eliminating more toxins from your body.
