The beefsteak plant (Perilla frutescens) could be used to trigger hair growth, according to researchers from South Korea. Their findings, which was published in the Journal of Natural Medicines, looked at the ability of an extract derived from P. frutescens to stimulate hair regrowth.
The findings revealed that the active ingredient in the hair growth properties of P. frutescens was rosmarinic acid, which could be used to promote hair growth.
