Protect your brain by avoiding these 3 harmful chemicals

The brain is a wondrous, complicated, and indispensable organ. It has evolved through millennia to be quite impervious to toxins and disease, but, in recent decades, science has essentially exposed its vulnerabilities to modern man-made chemicals. The good news is there are easy ways of preventing this from happening and avoiding the perils of brain injury.

Here is a list of the worst brain offenders:

Fluoride

Fluoride is in most public drinking water systems across the U.S., ostensibly designed to fight tooth decay but has been repeatedly shown to have a debilitating effect on brain function.

The Flouride Action Network (FAN) has claimed that 34 studies link fluoride to lower IQ in humans, while many other studies have shown that fluoride is linked to memory and learning impairment, fetal brain damage, and altered neuro-behavioral function. In a study sponsored by UNICEF, a 0.88 mg/l dose of fluoride, which is well in the optimal range added into U.S. drinking systems, has been found to reduce IQ.

Installing a high quality water filter is a simple and effective way to remove fluoride from your water supply.

Heavy metals

Modern industrial and agricultural processes have put toxic heavy metals into the brains and bodies of millions, thanks to dental procedures, vaccines, and industrial contamination of seafood. These chemicals are not easily expelled from the body.

The vaccination of newborn babies is especially contentious since they have not yet developed the blood-brain barrier and they are often subject to an intense vaccination schedule that injects mercury directly into their bodies. For babies who have a genetic shortage of enzymes responsible for detoxifying heavy metals, prenatal and postnatal exposure to mercury leads to brain damage that manifests as autism.

Avoid the flu shot, mercury fillings, and chemicals and take special precautions in consuming seafood to ensure your safety from toxic mercury and other heavy metals.

Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners

The demand for low-calorie food products has spurred the development and production of artificial sweeteners, and now these chemicals are found in yogurt, chewing gum, cooking sauces, flavored water, cereals, and other products branded as “sugar-free.”

Their negative effects on brain function have been well documented. Aspartame, probably the most well-known of these chemicals, has been documented to cause ninety different symptoms, including anxiety attacks, slurred speech, depression, and migraines.

To avoid artificial sweeteners, remember to always read ingredient labels and avoid “healthy” sugar-free products.
