(MindBodyScience.news) Faith is the most needed trait when obtaining what you want out of life. It is known that when you tell yourself something over and over, and if you hear something over and over, you will eventually believe it. That is exactly what we must do in our lives to attain what we want.
A metaphor was used in “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” by Taylor who said, “Masterfully designed to move you through space and time, your body is a physical vessel. But no vessel goes anywhere undirected. There has to be someone on board who directs the travels and judges that journey’s process. That someone is your thinking mind.”
Eventually You’ll Come Up for Air
Taylor goes on to say that not only do we have our thinking mind (our brain) to help us along the way, but we also have our spirit (that little voice inside). We have that inner “umph” that will serve to guide us where we need to go, if we just listen. We are living in the “divine flow”, and we can choose to go upstream or we can choose to go downstream.
Living with faith means that your life is, will, and always was happening perfectly. For some, this is a hard realization. Everything that has happened up to this point has occurred in perfect order. As you row your boat through the stream of life, the stream may offer many challenges: it could be slow and easy, it could be sharp and bumpy, or it could sink you momentarily. But having faith means understanding that that is how the stream works – it just is that way. When the stream takes you under momentarily, just as with the divine order of life, you will eventually come up for air.
You Gotta Have Faith, Faith, Faith
A well-known criminologist said, “When people first come into contact with crime, they abhor it. If they remain in contact with crime for a time, they become accustomed to it and endure it. If they remain in contact with it for long enough, they finally embrace it, and become influenced by it.” Keeping your eye focused on what you want, visualizing, and having faith it will happen, will cause your beliefs to change; hence, your life will change.
The influence you have over yourself and those around you is given power by the faith you possess. When you desire something and yet don’t have faith you’re going to have it, then you won’t.
In order to get what you want, you must resolve to rid your life of all negative influences, unless of course you want a life of negativity. Build the life you want; the Universe is your catalogue. Having faith takes courage because you’ll want to resort back to negative thinking and feeling, especially when you receive criticism from others – and you will! You will have to have extremely good self-confidence to have faith.
There are five sure-fire ways to gain and attain self confidence. Use this as a guide, grow strong, and develop your faith in the attainment of your desires:
1. Demand greatness out of yourself.
Continue to be persistent and have continuous forward action toward the attainment of your wants, no matter what. This is a hard task to accomplish when you don’t see what you want happening right away, but it is essential to keep your eye on the prize.
2. Visualize your new life.
Create a mental picture of the person you want to be and the life you want to have, then visualize that person and new life daily. When you want something different for your life, you have to know what it is. If you don’t know what it is, you can’t continually keep that vision in your mind’s eye. Figure out your purpose, know what you want, then create the picture and keep it stuck in your vision constantly.
3. Demand self-confidence.
Since we know that what we hold in our thoughts continually will become a new belief and hence the reality of our life, it only stands to reason that we should demand better self-confidence of ourselves. Our self-confidence will keep us persistent, even in the face of criticism. When you visualize your new life with persistence, it will come to pass.
4. Write your purpose.
Clearly write your purpose in life, and never stop aiming to attain that purpose. Your purpose will appropriately guide you to not only more self-confidence, but to the life you ultimately desire.
5. Do away with the negative influences.
Eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness, and cynicism by developing love for all humanity. A negative attitude toward others will never bring you success. Others will believe in you and your cause when you believe in them, and in yourself.
Negative thinking is disastrous and will never help you gain what you want out of your life. You cannot have negativity and be living your life’s true purpose – it just will never happen. You can, however, have desire, faith, and persistence which will guide you to your life’s purpose.
Having faith means having courage. Having courage means keeping a laser focus on your desires. Knowing your desires and exercising your faith that what you want will come to you, really is an essential step in the process of attaining the life you desire – a life guided by your purpose. Don’t be afraid to listen to the little voice inside you that will guide you on your journey; that will keep you in the divine flow.
Remember, your life is happening perfectly, if you only let it. Just have faith!
